Resurfacing and Repair

Philadelphia Custom Block and Board Corp is fully capable of handling any resurfacing or repair work that your wood cutting board or butcher block may need. Years of chopping and cutting on wood boards can take their toll, no matter how strong the wood. Our facility has all the necessary equipment to resurface and repair boards in almost any condition. We can remove and replace damaged wood, re-set glue seams, sand or plane surfaces or edges, and re-seal your old boards to make them look as good as the day you bought them. Since each boards needs could vary, please send us a detailed description (and photo) of your wood cutting board or butcher block, and we will send you a quote based on your needs.

PLEASE NOTE: Resurfacing of any board (regardless of style) requires the removal of the top (and some cases the bottom) layers of wood on your board. Although the removal of wood required is minimal (in most cases), the thickness of your board will be reduced. Normally, the amount of wood removed is only as much as the deepest knife groove. However, in severe cases, more wood may need to be taken off depending on the extent of the damage.
